I’m one day away from offering Dr. Indigo’s Women’s Forum! If I had a tail it would be wagging like a puppy with a new bone. I haven’t been this excited about anything in a very long time. Yes… I love my work and I feel passionate about what I do on a day-to-day basis. But, when was the last time your invisible tail wagged about something you were doing whether personally or professionally? If you can’t recall, then you need to do something about that. Mark Twain said, “There are two significant dates in your life. The day you were born and the day you realize why.” That is one of my most favorite quotes.
I have known since being a youth my talents and strengths. But, I realized what my purpose was, as an adult and I became very successful and even wealthy by pursuing and following my purpose. Now, that I am here in Asia… I have relied on doing what I’m naturally talented in offering. I’m a writer, speaker and leader that is my passion. So, I speak at conferences, meet with potential clients and work on building my business. Yes… my passion, while my purpose is to heal, inspire, educate and pour into others which is what I was born to do. My Women’s Forum allows me to combine both my passion and purpose; and, that excites me to no end.
Maybe you have become engulfed in your job that you aren’t truly living your purpose. I want this blog to be a reminder of things that you need to do for yourself. Do you find as a leader, spouse, parent or even friend that you become so involved with what others need to do that you don’t take the time to schedule your own success? We schedule everything from spa appointments to team meetings at work, but we rarely sit down and work on our success map. We don’t take the time for ourselves to achieve our passion. Lately I’ve been working tirelessly on the Women’s Forum. It has become my passion and purpose; although I let a few weeks slip by without tending to it. That simply cannot happen if I want the same measure of success for this as I have experienced back in the US. So, I had to carve out time each day to devote to my vision. This is something that I want you, as the reader, to consider. Are you taking time to build whatever dream you have for yourself, family, career, etc. or are you putting it on the back burner ‘planning’ to get to it at some point?
Start today thinking about what you want to achieve and make a date with yourself to begin walking down that road with it. You have to form a relationship between what you want and yourself. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, so make it intentional in achieving the level of success you desire. What do you need to start doing to move you closer to your passion and then what will it take to live your purpose? Your tail will wag when you live your purpose.
